Identification of nonstationary axisymmetric load distributed along a cylindrical shell

The paper outlines a procedure to identify the space-and time-dependent external nonstationary load acting on a closed circular cylindrical shell of medium thickness. Time-dependent deflections at several points of the shell are used as input data to solve the inverse problem. Examples of numerical identification of various nonstationary loads, including moving ones are presented. The relationship between the external load and the stress-strain state of the shell is described by the Volterra equation of the first kind. Lax Pairs for Equations Describing Compatible Nonlocal Poisson Brackets of Hydrodynamic Type and Integrable Reductions of the Lamé Equations

We solve the problem of describing compatible nonlocal Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type. We prove that for nonsingular pairs of compatible nonlocal Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type, there exist special local coordinates such that the metrics and the Weingarten operators of both brackets are diagonal. The nonlinear evolution equations describing all nonsingular pairs of compatible nonlocal Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type are derived in these special coordinates, and the integrability of these equations is proved using the inverse scattering transform. The Lax pairs with a spectral parameter for these equations are found. We construct various classes of integrable reductions of the derived equations. These classes of reductions are of an independent differential-geometric and applied interest. In particular, if one of the compatible Poisson brackets is local, we obtain integrable reductions of the classical Lamé equations describing all orthogonal curvilinear coordinate systems in a flat space; if one of the compatible brackets is generated by a constant-curvature metric, the corresponding equations describe integrable reductions of the equations for orthogonal curvilinear coordinate systems in a space of constant curvature.

Breathers in ferrimagnetic systems

Breathers in discrete nonlinear ferrimagnetic spin lattices are investigated for both easy-axis and easy-plane configurations. The region in frequency space of the formation of breathers is determined and the anticontinuum limit discussed. The monochromatic and the coloured breathers are found out numerically for different parameters and different conditions of excitations.     

Generalized Hopf Bifurcation for Planar Filippov Systems Continuous at the Origin

In this paper, we study the existence of periodic orbits bifurcating from stationary solutions of a planar dynamical system of Filippov type. This phenomenon is interpreted as a generalized Hopf bifurcation. In the case of smoothness, Hopf bifurcation is characterized by a pair of complex conjugate eigenvalues crossing through the imaginary axis. This method does not carry over to nonsmooth systems, due to the lack of linearization at the origin which is located on the line of discontinuity. In fact, generalized Hopf bifurcation is determined by interactions between the discontinuity of the system and the eigen-structures of all subsystems. With the help of geometrical observations for a corresponding piecewise linear system, we derive an analytical method to investigate the existence of periodic orbits that are obtained by searching for the fixed points of return maps.     

Mean Value on the Difference Between a Quadratic Residue and Its Inverse Modulo p

THE NECESSARY AND SUFFICIENT CONDITIONS FOR THE SOLVABILITY OF A CLASS OF THE MATRIX INVERSE PROBLEM

Censider the solutions of the matrix inverse problem, which are symmetric positive semide finite on a subspace. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability, as well as the general solution are obtained. The best approximate solution by the above solution set is given. Thus the open problem in [1] is solved.
